Reading is too important to trivialize. Please!
This has nothing to do with shoving academia down your throat, but everything to do with becoming a better processor, smarter responder, and giving the real you a chance to rise up.
Not only this, but there's something really powerful in reading a book (like the Bible) over and over again (cause I still do). You spark meditation and deepen understanding-an experience your brain wants.
Reading also gives you an opportunity for you to discover how best to organize your thoughts and express yourself perfectly (this is something I have always wanted to do because I always had trouble expressing myself the way I wanted so, what I wanted to say is not actually what I get to say, and it's frustrating because your audience or whoever you're talking to starts seeing you quite different, and probably take you to be sentimental-even though we all have our secret sentiments 😒)
Yes, reading is very important, and you don't even have to believe what you read, as long as you are reading. It is a healthy mental process, and you never know whether the perfect worldview for you may be one book away.
I also know that in a digital age, we have almost everything on the internet, and could even be the easiest route, but I advocate that you do not downplay or neglect the unique benefit of reading physical, tangible, page-numbered books. Yes, the one where you can still bookmark a page by folding it. It's still beneficial, it's nothing to do with old school.

Reading isn't Old School
